The Farmhouse at Mackworth is a beautiful 18th century building located in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside just on the edge of the village of Mackworth.
Blending old with new, the original farmhouse building has been extended to add the perfect wedding venue area, The Folly.
With and abundance of space and light and airy feel The Folly is fully licensed to hold weddings, civil ceremonies and receptions and has open views across fields and woodland, it really is the most perfect setting for your wedding day.
I really wanted to put together a blog about the venue as I absolutely love the rustic feel of the building.
There are so many lovely features to incorporate into your wedding photographs and the grounds offer lovely pathways and trees for romantic and natural couple portraits.
it oozes history with the log stacks in the entrance way, the luxurious boutique feel of the rooms, the ornate iron arch in the grounds and the fire pit on the patio meaning your outdoor entertainment doesn’t have to stop just because the sun has gone down.

I also need to give a big shout out to the team at The Farmhouse, with a dedicated Wedding Events Manager nothing is ever too much trouble and they all work together absolutely seamlessly to ensure you can just relax and enjoy every minute.

We had hail, rain, severe winds and even some snow but the team at The Farmhouse were so flexible moving things around so Neil and Jo could enjoy their day in the warmth and space of The Folly and just head out as and when the weather let up for a moment to grab these lovely shots.
If you are looking for a Derby based wedding venue I cant recommend The Farmhouse enough, stunning venue, amazing team, gorgeous grounds and lots of overnight accommodation for guests who want to stop over.
