Derby & Nottingham barn & farm wedding photographer near me?
I absolutely love photographing weddings that take place in big barns and on working farms.
Whether you have chosen a permanently converted barn or you are temporarily transforming your very own a working cow shed into something truly stunning with drapes, rustic table centre pieces and farm elements for your wedding day it will be amazing!
Getting married on a Derby or Nottingham farm?
Getting married on a farm means space, inside and out… marques and barns are almost always big, light and airy and make for beautiful natural light wedding photos without the need for using flashes during the ceremony. If the weather is kind you can even bring your wedding reception outside and make the most of the fresh air.
There is always lots of room for children to run, explore and have fun and I love to capture them up to mischief and their natural smiles through lots of candid photography.
There are always lots of amazing features to make use of on farms to produce some truly stunning photographs. Farm land views across Derby and Nottingham crop fields to the horizon make for perfect cornfield sunsets if the weather is on our side.
Farm and Barn Couple Wedding Photography
As a professional Derby and Nottingham wedding photographer I have almost three decades of experience and having worked with off camera flash for most of those years there is no limit to how creative we can get on your wedding day. I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful Nottingham farm wedding which had a large steel wind turbine in their crop field for us to make use of and we grabbed this shot just as a dramatic stormy sky rolled in at sunset.
Walks through fields, woodland and forests are just the ticket for intimate couple shots as you relax and stroll hand in hand. Even tractors, combine harvesters and other machinery can be used to create some truly unique photographs to look back on and remember your wedding day by!
Derby and Nottingham Farm AND BARN Sunsets
As the daylight fades away into dusk and the sun sets most photographers pack up their camera kit and head home. For me, this is my favourite time of day! I use lots of off camera flash and creative lighting to produce some ‘wow’ shots of just the two of you under beautiful blue hour twilight skies!
. I get the equipment all set up and ready to go in your absence so I can just ‘borrow ‘ you from the dance floor for a moment, take the shot and let you get right back to your guests.
Barn and Farm Wedding Ideas for the Evening
Things that I have seen at farm weddings I have photographed that really set the scene are:
Open fire pits for guests to sit around and chat
Nice open BBQ’s
Fun games (My favourite so far was a coconut shy!)
Lots (and lots!) of twinkle lights
All of these look amazing at golden hour with everyone outside laughing and enjoying the early evening air so maybe think about incorporating some with drinks as the sun sets to get everyone involved?
